A terrible accident happened on a mountain pasture near St. Georgen am Kreischberg (Murau district) on Monday afternoon. A Styrian (83) was overrun by a herd of cows and killed.
The man left his farm around 1 p.m. to check on his 15 cattle at the “Zechnerhütte”. Because the farmer had not returned by 5:30 p.m., his daughter-in-law went to see the 83-year-old. She found the man lying dead on the ground between the cattle. The drama probably happened while feeding his cattle.
