A horrific accident tragedy occurred on a farm in Kirchberg ob der Donau (Upper Austria) on Saturday afternoon. A small child was run over and killed by a tractor driven by his own grandfather. Doctors who were called were no longer able to help the two-year-old boy. The horror is great.
The 66-year-old grandfather had been working with his wheel loader in the stables of his farm in Kirchberg ob der Donau that afternoon. It is not yet clear exactly how the terrible accident could have happened. Two-year-old Roland probably ran after the tractor around 4 p.m. The grandpa apparently didn’t notice the grandson and overlooked him as he was reversing in his Hoftrac. The little boy was no longer able to avoid it and was knocked over by the vehicle. The shocked old farmer immediately raised the alarm. Unfortunately, an emergency doctor who rushed to the scene with the Christophorus 10 rescue helicopter was only able to determine that the two-year-old was dead. A crisis intervention team had to take care of the relatives. The police are now also investigating suspicions of negligent homicide.
