Draw in the top game
Schalke now third after a last-minute win

Two central questions arise at the beginning of the 10th matchday in the 2nd Bundesliga: is there a new leader after the top game between Paderborn and Regensburg? And does the Schalke Terrode make it to the sole record goal scorer of the lower house?

SC Paderborn – SSV Jahn Regensburg 1: 1

SC Paderborn and Jahn Regensburg took points away from each other in the chase duel of the 2nd Bundesliga and thus missed the leap to the top of the table. In Paderborn the positive surprise teams of the season so far separated 1: 1 (0: 1).

Charalambos Makridis (2nd) shocked the host from Ostwestfalen with his early goal, but the former Bundesliga club got a deserved equalizer through substitute Kai Pröger (71st). Regensburg drew level on points (19) with leaders FC St. Pauli, the Hamburg team will play at 1. FC Heidenheim on Saturday (1.30 p.m. / Sky). Paderborn is one point behind.

The SCP started nervously in front of 7913 spectators. After losing the ball well into the Regensburg half, the guests came in front of the SCP goal without any significant resistance and to success after a good 100 seconds. In the 10th minute, Robin Yalcin literally invited Andreas Albers to make it 0-2 with a bad back pass, but the Jahn striker moved from an acute angle.

Led by his best goalscorer Sven Michel, Paderborn came up and even became overweight until the break. Alexander Meyer in the Jahn-Tor advanced to become the best player of his team. But he had no chance in the soulful flick of Pröger from a good 20 meters.

Hannover 96 – FC Schalke 04 0-1

Schalke 04 climbed onto the relegation place for the time being with a goal in stoppage time in the 2nd Bundesliga. Defender Marcin Kaminski scored a deserved 1-0 (0-0) at Hannover 96 late (90 + 5).

It didn’t matter that Simon Terodde missed his 154th second division goal and continues to share first place in the record scorer list with Dieter Schatzschneider. The 96 icon followed Terodde’s unsuccessful hunt in the stadium. Schalke remained clean for the third time in their third win in a row. Hannover are in the lower middle of the table after their third game in a row without a win.

Schalke started powerfully with a lot of possession in front of 39,500 spectators and came through Terodde (9th) and Dominick Drexler (10th) to the first deals. Mehmet-Can Aydin then missed the greatest chance to lead the guests in the early stages with his shot at the inside post (12th). As a result, the Royal Blues continued to be in control and there were no clear opportunities. Hannover was defensively stable, but little progress was made for Lower Saxony.

Schalke started the second round with a lot of momentum. But Kaminski failed because of the strongly reacting 96 goalkeeper Ron-Robert Zieler (53rd). The former national goalkeeper could not be beaten even after the subsequent Drexler corner (54th). Schalke stayed on the trigger, but Terodde also forgave (70th). Hanover started practically no more relief attacks.

A quarter of an hour before the end, Zieler limped off the field with calf problems and was replaced by Martin Hansen. This had no chance against Kaminski’s late shot into luck.
