The H11 and H11 Max are Dreame’s very first motorized floor scrubbers. A year after their release, the Chinese manufacturer is renewing its range with a logically named “H12”, discovered by chance at Darty.
Physically, one could easily confuse the H11 and the H12. The new version of Dreame’s floor cleaner is not fundamentally different from the old one in terms of aesthetics, but, according to the technical data sheet displayed on the distributor’s site, it would be much lighter (5 kg against 9, 3kg). This should significantly improve the usability of the device, especially as the roller drive makes it easier to manipulate the scrubber when it is running.
In addition to the weight, we understand on the Darty site that the main changes have been made in the design of the cleaning head. This new “edge-to-edge” head is supposed to hug baseboards and walls better for better cleaning.
To these changes is added a suction mode that would allow the device to be used as a simple vacuum cleaner. In this case, it switches off the cleaning function and only sucks up the liquid without cleaning.
This is undoubtedly the main difference with its elder: the H11 Max could not constitute a full-fledged suction solution, its suction function combined with washing simply allowing you to collect small dust that is not very encrusted. It will therefore be necessary to evaluate the effectiveness of this mode to see if the H12 can be sufficient on its own. To date, only the Kobold vacuum cleaner combines these two functions in a formidable way.
Of course, the automatic mode is always there: it adjusts the suction power according to the dirt detected by the sensors located at the level of the brush.

There is also the roller self-cleaning function. This would be scraped down to the root by a row of teeth, and the collected dirt is then sucked up by the device. To dry the roll, Dreame has developed a hot air drying system that only needs two hours to completely dry the roll, according to the manufacturer.
Other than that, the H12 has all the features of the H11 Max, such as a charging station that stores additional accessories, a display, dirt detection sensors, and more. It is equipped with the same battery (4000 mAh) which allowed the H11 Max to last a little over 40 min.
The H12 is available from Darty for €499 – that’s €100 less than the H11 Max when it launched.
