Dreame breaks the summer lull with its new robot. With its name, this L10 Prime obviously recalls the L10s Ultra, one of the best rated models in our comparison and not the most expensive. However, the manufacturer prefers to present it as a “W10 improvement” ; understand that he worked more on washing than on suction, even if the two functions are well offered.
Automatic lifting and washing of mops
The L10 Prime features Dreame’s most advanced washing system. Like the W10, but also like the L10s Ultra, it has two mops that it can not only rotate to scrub the floor, but also raise. This is a first for the manufacturer, which specifies that its new robot is more exactly capable of raising its mops by 7 mm. This should allow it to continue vacuuming the carpets without wetting or damaging them during a full cleaning cycle… even if it really depends on the carpets. Models with long hairs still risk coming into contact with mops, as the robot can sink into them.
However, this also applies to competing models that offer similar systems, such as Roborock’s S8 Pro Ultra. Only the Ezviz RS2 is capable of washing and vacuuming the whole house in perfect autonomy without any risk of wetting any carpets – provided there is no navigation problem of course – since he can completely remove his skates. He then works on two cycles.
To make his robot more autonomous, Dreame delivers it with a multifunction station. This takes care of filling the robot’s water tank, but also cleaning mops thanks to a 2.7 liter clean water tank and another 2.5 liter for used water. This may not seem like much compared to the 4L tanks at the W10’s station, but it should push users to empty the waste water more often, and potentially before it smells too much, so that’s no more evil. We could also have expected to find a slightly more compact station, but this does not seem to be the case given the dimensions announced (35 x 43.8 x 44.3 cm).
More classic equipment for vacuuming and navigating
Of course, it is also on this station that the L10 Prime can be recharged at the end of cleaning or once its 5200 mAh battery is exhausted, but no automatic draining system is however offered. The L10s Ultra remains to this day the only Dreame robot to offer both pad cleaning and automatic emptying. Others, like the D10 Plus, only offer this last function.
However, the new model is still capable of vacuuming the floor. Dreame announces a suction power of 4000 Pa and adds that the robot is equipped with a main rubber brush supposed to avoid the entanglement of hair and hair while routing the waste to a collector of 450 ml, to be emptied manually therefore. To navigate, finally, the L10 Prime is equipped with a laser rangefinder, but leaves the W10 Pro its intelligent obstacle detection system. It should be available now from Amazon and from the end of August from other retailers at the recommended retail price of €599.
