The closet is too full and bags and accessories are taking up the whole bedroom anyway? Then it is probably time to organize your own dressing room!
Sure, not everyone has a room left in the apartment or house that is only available for storing clothes and putting on. Don't have to either! A dressing room can also be set up in a small chamber as a walk-in closet or in a separate corner in the bedroom. For this, lightweight walls can be pulled in or a part can be separated with screens (here there are nice room divider ideas).

1st closet
In order for you to choose the right system for your dressing room, you should consider the following before buying:
- How much clothing do you already have and how much buffer do you need?
- How many shoes and accessories do you own?
- How big is the room?
- Note which ones spatial conditions could still play a role, e.g. B. sloping ceilings, stairs, nooks and crannies, etc.
- Do you need additional furniture, such as B. a seat?
To store your clothes you can …
- … classic cupboard systems with doors or on
- Set open shelving systems with clothes rails and compartments plus many drawers.
Which one is the right one depends on your individual wishes:
- With doors, the room always looks neat.
- Open systems make your favorite outfit ready to hand.
- Hanging systems offer plenty of space for blouses, dresses etc.
- In large and small subjects z. B. sweaters and handbags in good hands.
- For shoes you can use ordinary shelves (pay attention to the height of the compartments so that boots can also fit in) or integrate shoe shelves.
- When furnishing a dressing room under a sloping roof, custom-made cupboards are the best choice – every centimeter is used perfectly!
2nd mirror
The blue dress with the black shoes or the red ones? With a look in the mirror, the decision is easier for you! If there is space, you can use one Whole body mirror accommodate. And: a mirror reflects light and makes it look larger – perfect for small dressing rooms.
3. Light
The light in the dressing room should not be underestimated! Colors can look very different in dim light than in daylight, so a window would be ideal next to the ceiling lighting. But even without it it's only half as wild, wall lights or chic table lamps do their job as well. Indirect lighting in the closet, e.g. B. small LED lights, or distributed in the room, also create a Feel-good atmosphere.
4. Tools
So that nothing goes haywire, these little helpers are super practical:
- Scarf bracket
- Jewelry stand or jewelry box
- Hat stand
- Decorative ladder to lean on
- Compartment inserts for belts etc.
5. Dressing table
If the room allows it, there is space for one Make-up corner on! A place for eye shadows, nail polish flacons and nobody who annoys you because you block the bathroom … A small table with a chair and an (illuminating) mirror is usually enough for a make-up corner – and voila, make-up and outfit are in a jiffy ready to go!
If you are not one of the make-up enthusiasts, use the space differently: free corners can also be used for other furniture such as Armchairs, a bench with a chest (storage space miracle!) Or a sideboard with chic decoration use.
6. That certain something
Hand-painted doorknobs on the wardrobe, a designer wardrobe, art prints, a chandelier or any piece of furniture in purple – you decide what that little extra is!
