Iran names Israel as mastermind in Isfahan

Iran is currently secretly converting its nuclear facilities. Because of a drone attack on a military facility in Isfahan, Tehran sees its right to self-defense violated. In a letter to the United Nations, the mullahs’ regime accused Israel of being behind the attack. The letter does not give details.
Iran has officially accused its nemesis Israel of being behind a drone attack on a military facility in central Iran. Preliminary investigations have shown that “the Zionist regime is responsible for the terrorist attack on a workshop complex of the Defense Ministry” in Isfahan, the Iranian news agency Isna quoted a letter from Iran’s UN Ambassador Amir Sajid Irawani to UN Secretary-General António Guterres.
The Iranian authorities announced at the weekend that they had fended off the drone attack in Isfahan. One of the drones was destroyed by anti-aircraft defenses, while two others exploded. The attack reportedly caused minor damage to the roof of a building. Nobody was injured. The Natan nuclear enrichment plant is located in Isfahan.
“Warlike statements”: Tehran demands Israel’s condemnation
Irawani did not provide any further information on the investigations in his letter to Guterres. However, he was referring to previous threats by Israel to attack Iranian infrastructure. He now called on the UN Security Council to condemn the “belligerent statements”. The most important body of the United Nations should persuade Israel to comply with “international law” and to stop “its dangerous programs and destructive activities in the region”.
Israel accuses Iran of wanting to manufacture nuclear weapons, which Tehran denies. The government in Tel Aviv wants to curb Tehran’s influence in the Middle East. For its part, Iran has accused Israel of working with the United States to carry out acts of sabotage and attacks aimed at Iran’s nuclear program. Irawani has now declared that his country reserves the “legitimate and natural right to self-defense”. The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) accused Tehran on Wednesday of secretly converting a plant for the production of highly enriched uranium.
Only on Wednesday did Tehran accuse Kurdish opposition groups in Iraq of being involved in the drone attack. Iran’s Nur news agency, which is said to be close to Iran’s National Security Council, reported that Kurdish groups brought the drone parts and explosives into Iran via “one of the most inaccessible routes in the northwest” on “orders from a foreign security service”. Some Western media had previously suspected Israel to be behind the attack. Israel has not yet commented on this.
