“As we had forecast and announced, we were able to reconnect with a good growth dynamic in the 2

th

trimester, after a 1

er

quarter in slight decline, to reach a record number of billings at mid-year. »

says Marc Courcelle, Managing Director of DRONE VOLT.

“Even if the base effect is demanding at 3

th

quarter, with a record turnover last year, we remain optimistic and continue to garner significant orders even before the launches of new highly anticipated drones by the end of the year. »

Turnover up by +10%

The turnover of 1

er

half of 2022 shows an increase of 10% compared to the 1

er

half of 2021, and reached the 4.0 million euro mark for the first time. Revenue from high value-added activities (DRONE VOLT FACTORY, SERVICES & ACADEMY) amounted to 1.4 million euros (-18%) with several orders recorded at the end of the half-year which will give rise to deliveries and invoicing on the 2

n/a

half of 2022. Since the beginning of the year, DRONE VOLT has delivered 29 drones designed and assembled by the Group (33 on 1

er

half of 2021), including 5 HERCULES 20 drones to AQUILINE DRONE, which is now devoting all of its commercial efforts to the distribution of the model after having ordered just over 200 HERCULES 2 since the start of the partnership. Thus, DRONE VOLT could temporarily suspend the invoicing of production licenses (650 keuros on the 1

er

half of 2022) from the second half of 2022 to favor the distribution of HERCULES 20, in particular in its SPRAY version.

The Third-Party Brands activity recorded sales of 2.6 million euros, up 35% thanks to better product availability.

Improvement of the margin of high value-added products

The gross margin of high added value activities amounted to 928 k euros at 1

er

half of 2022, i.e. a margin rate of 67%, up 4 points compared to the 1

er

half of 2021. This increase is due to the resumption of service activities after the end of traffic restrictions and royalties from the licensing agreement entered into with AQUILINE DRONES in October 2020.

The Group’s consolidated gross margin came to 1.4 million euros (-4%), or 34% of sales, taking into account the business mix and the relative weight of the Third-Party Brands business.

Success of the external growth strategy

This beginning of the year was marked by two strategic acquisitions, the SKYTOOLS company and the assets of the VIKING DRONE company, whose integrations are proceeding in accordance with the roadmap.

Regarding SKYTOOLS, a player in distribution and services by drones in the Netherlands, commercial synergies are being put in place and the company has already contributed 357 keuros in the 1

er

half of 2022 with an average gross margin rate of 46%. The commercial outlook is very good for the second half of the year.

With regard to the assets of VIKING DRONE, a Danish player specializing in connected drones for developers and integrators, this new technological expertise, particularly around 4G/5G communication systems, is gradually being integrated into the new Group product lines.

The Group continues to study acquisition opportunities to strengthen its technologies and its activities while remaining very selective in the analysis of files.

Continuous innovations with several new product highlights

1

er

semester 2022 was also marked by several technological innovations that will be at the heart of the commercial dynamic of the coming semesters.

Thus, at the beginning of 2022, DRONE VOLT unveiled the new version of its Heliplane drone. This new VTOL (Vertical Take Off and Landing) type drone, equipped with a fixed wing and available in two versions (2.4 m and 3.4 m wingspan), is characterized by its ability to take off vertically. like a conventional drone, then to fly like an airplane thanks to a motor placed at the rear of the device. At the end of June, DRONE VOLT announced the sale of a Heliplane LRS (2.4 m version) to Groupe Gilbert, a major player in transport, logistics and civil and mining engineering in Canada.

At the same time, DRONE VOLT continued, in close collaboration with its partner Hydro-Québec, Canada’s largest electricity producer, the industrialization of the first Linedrone

. The first test flights of the production version will be carried out in July, in accordance with the announced schedule. CIGRE Technical Exhibition 2022, the world’s largest exhibition for professionals in the electricity sector, which will take place from August 29 to September 2 in Paris, will be an opportunity for DRONE VOLT to present all “PowerLine” solutions.

Finally, in the longer term, DRONE VOLT is continuing its development around a hydrogen drone within the framework of its strategic partnerships with the companies ROTH2 (refueling stations) and PRAGMA INDUSTRIES (fuel cells). DRONE VOLT specifies that the deadlines for the capital increases planned as part of the securities exchange operation will take place at the end of each month until December 2022.

Favorable business outlook for the second half

For the rest of the 2022 financial year, DRONE VOLT anticipates sustained commercial activity, with negotiations in progress relating to new significant orders, whether in the extension of the EUROSATORY exhibition, which took place from June 13 to 17, 2022, or distribution agreements with AQUILINE DRONE in the United States or with a customer in Central Europe which generated 8 sales of HERCULES 20 SPRAY drones at the end of June 2022. .
