The heat wave which hit France for the third time has not finished worrying the government. With the drought, the Minister of the Interior Gérald Darmanin sent a specific request to the prefects. According to Le Parisien, Friday August 12, 2022, the Minister of the Interior advocated extreme vigilance for a very special weekend. L’Assomption is synonymous with traditional pyrotechnic shows. These fireworks launched on August 15 could cause “increased risks of fires” reports Le Parisien on Saturday August 13, 2022. France is already in the grip of violent fires in Gironde, in the Landes or even in the Jura. This historic and spectacular situation could totally upset the Assumption weekend. Gérald Darmanin has hypothesized to cancel the traditional fireworks.
Cancel the event, the radical decision has already been taken by several prefectures, Le Parisien report Saturday August 13, 2022.
