Drug trafficking in Marseille: assault rifles and 330,000 euros seized during a large dragnet in a city

Fourteen people have been indicted, after a vigorous investigation by 280 police officers, including the judicial police, the Raid and the CRS.

333,990 euros, 37.5 kilograms of resin and herbal cannabis, 16 long weapons (including assault rifles and shotguns), 4 handguns and 6 vehicles (including a sedan worth 77,000 euros ), were seized during searches in the Cité Campagne Lévêque, in the 15e district of the city of Marseille.

280 police officers mobilized

Thirty-two people were initially placed in police custody, after their arrests in this city known to the police, but also in Châteauneuf-les-Martigues and Port-de-Bouc (Bouches-du-Rhône). Six people were indicted on March 16, then eight others on Friday. Seven of them were temporarily imprisoned, pending their trial.

These operations were carried out within the framework of a vast drug trafficking, the investigating judge having also been seized for criminal association, money laundering and non-justification of resources.

In total, the investigation mobilized no less than 280 police officers, from the Banditry Repression Brigade, the criminal brigade, the Ofast branch, and the BRI. During the arrests, members of the Raid and a CRS company were present to secure the premises.
