Allegedly, Dieter Bohlen should return to “DSDS” for the anniversary season. How has he spent the time since he left?
Dieter Bohlen (68) could be facing his big TV comeback. At the beginning of 2021, the end of the jury veteran at “DSDS” became known. In summer 2021 he was replaced by Florian Silbereisen (40). As the “Bild” newspaper learned from broadcasting circles wants to have, Bohlen should now be back on board in the anniversary season of the RTL casting show. But what has the successful music producer done with the show since he left?
Instagram videos for his fans
Since his “TV pension”, Bohlen has kept in touch with his fans, mainly via Instagram. Around 1.5 million subscribers follow him on the social media platform. The music star doesn’t just give insight in heavenly vacations with partner Carina (38). He also documents his work there. He last shared at the end of June a short clipshowing him on the set of a commercial shoot.

In the past few months, he has also shared some unpleasant moments with his followers. He “hurt his ear a bit while diving” and “unfortunately had to have an operation,” said the pop titan in September 2021 in a video on Instagram, in which he is seen in a hospital bed. “Don’t worry,” he placated. “Now everything is great, I hear like an eagle.”
At the beginning of 2021 he had already injured his right ankle and toes. “Too stupid to go sledding”, he explained on Instagram at the time. He ran over his own foot. “Guys, that only happens to me,” Bohlen also wrote in early May this year on Instagram and explained that he had to undergo lightning surgery. “Broken right leg a year ago, now broken left leg,” the pop titan said in a post on the social media platform. He twisted his ankle while playing tennis. “Meniscus broken, quick surgery,” the 68-year-old continued. About five hours after the operation, he was “really fit again”.
Music remains his element
Bohlen also continued to pursue his music career. For example, he released a new version of the modern-talking classic “You’re My Heart, You’re My Soul” with ex-“DSDS” protégé Pietro Lombardi (30) and Katja Krasavice (25) in early May 2022. He will soon be back on stage for the music. He is scheduled to perform on August 6, 2022 at the “Favorite Songs” festival in the Rheinaue Bonn, as Bohlen announced in December 2021. On the official website of the event Bohlen is announced as “Special Guest”. At the concert, the former Modern Talking member will perform his greatest hits.
Greetings to the “DSDS” winner
A surprising virtual greeting in May 2022 proved that Bohlen did not completely break ties with RTL and “his” casting show after he left. The former jury member sent a message to the finalists and in the finale of the 19th season, which Harry Laffontien won wished them from the big screen “all the best for tonight, that you realize your dream today, just like the winner, Pietro Lombardi, back then.”
