Duchess Camilla: She succeeds Prince Harry

Duchess Camilla has taken on a role from Prince Harry, who stepped down from his senior royal duties earlier this year.

Since April 1, 2020, Prince Harry (36) and his wife Duchess Meghan (39) no longer perform their duties as representatives of the British crown (so-called "Megxit"). Instead, other members of the Royal Family take on their public appearances and duties. Duchess Camilla (73), wife of Prince Harry's father Charles (71), was asked this Wednesday.

In Great Britain, Remembrance Day (November 11th) commemorates the fallen soldiers in World War I. Each year a memorial garden is opened on the grounds of Westminster Abbey in London, in which crosses decorated with the typical red poppies can be placed for each regiment involved. Duchess Camilla represented the British crown and placed a small wooden cross in a poppy cross to commemorate the soldiers. Last year, Prince Harry appeared with his wife on the date that took place on November 7th, 2019. He has represented the royal family at the event since 2013.
