Duchess Catherine and Prince William: During their train journey, they slept in separate cabins

Duchess Catherine, 38, and Prince William, 38, traveled around the UK for three days to thank people for their efforts during the coronavirus pandemic. They undertook their tour on the "Royal Train" – but Catherine and William did not have a shared compartment on the train, instead they slept in separate cabins.

But you don't have to worry about the couple because of that. The reason for the separate bedrooms is simple. The Royal Train, reserved for Queen Elizabeth, 94, and other high-ranking members of the royal family, only has single beds – there are no double beds.

And that fact could be because the Queen and her husband Prince Philip, 99, prefer to sleep separately. According to Philips cousin Lady Pamela Hicks, the upper class has always had separate bedrooms.
