The weekend was all about Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee. However, one member of the British royal family in particular drew attention: little Prince Louis entertained the people with his funny faces. Prince William and Duchess Catherine seem to take their youngest’s behavior with humor.

It is well known that you cannot plan with children. This is obviously no different with the Royals. From June 2nd to 5th, 2022, the British royal family celebrated the 70th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth’s throne, 96. The monarch, who had to cancel her participation in several events for health reasons, was supported by her family members. That also meant all sorts of official appearances for little Prince Louis, 4. However, he only had nonsense in his head.

Duchess Catherine speaks a word of power

Already during his first public carriage ride on Thursday, June 2, his older sister Princess Charlotte, 7, had to brake him while waving excitedly. A little later, on the balcony of Buckingham Palace during the Trooping the Color parade, the little man vented his emotions, grimacing, covering his ears and screaming as the Red Arrows flew over the palace. His impatience was literally written all over his face, and warning words from his mother, Duchess Catherine, 40, could not change that.

His boredom reached its peak during the final “Platinum Pageant” celebration on the Mall. Together with other members of the royal family and alongside Mama Catherine, he sat in the audience and not only shimmyed from her lap to that of his grandfather Prince Charles, 73, but also gave his mother a long nose, stuck out his tongue and held her even closed his mouth at times. The Duchess repeatedly reprimanded her youngest offspring, which responded with a pout. After all, his older siblings Charlotte and Prince George, 8, knew how to behave perfectly at an event like this.

For the photographers and viewers, however, the funny moments of the cheeky mini-royal were considered the real highlight of the anniversary celebrations. This does not seem to have escaped Duchess Catherine and Prince William either. However, they take their son’s emotional outbursts with humor.

In an Instagram post on Monday, the couple shared some impressions of events as well as their short trip to Cardiff and sent words of thanks to the people who celebrated the anniversary and paid tribute to the Queen. She ends her lines with a sympathetic wink: “We all had an incredible time, especially Louis…” Behind them, they put an emoji with big eyes, demonstrating a healthy dose of humor.
