Duchess Catherine has a knack for fashion, no question about it. But this year, Prince William’s wife broke away from old fashion patterns.

Duchess Catherine, 39, and Prince William, 39, have been married for ten years this year. Ten years in which Kate as Duchess of Cambridge attends official appointments under the sign of the British crown – and always shines. The mother of three proves her flair for fashion in all of her appearances and almost never goes wrong. Perhaps that is also due to the fact that Catherine has almost always moved in her fashion comfort zone in recent years. We saw above all elegant coat dresses, classic shift dresses, traditional plaid patterns. Always stylish, but never unexpected.

Duchess Catherine: Your wardrobe is getting an upgrade

Of course, the outfit range of a member of the royal family is more limited than that of a celebrity or a star. And yet: One would have wished for a little more courage in fashion from Kate. This year, Prince William’s wife finally got married. Ten years after joining the royal family, Duchess Catherine will cause several wow moments in 2021. Whether casual, business or evening wear – Kate has entered new territory.

Casual means casual

Duchess Catherine always chose down-to-earth outfits for casual occasions such as sporting events or meetings in nature, but she rarely came across as authentically casual in dark trousers, striped shirt and parka jacket. This year, the mother of three wears blue jeans for the first time, both at her vaccination appointment and during a surprise visit to the Natural History Museum in London, thus setting a fashionable example. After all, who says that a member of the Royal Family can’t wear light-colored jeans too? Kate is also becoming sportier when it comes to choosing shoes, increasingly wearing vegan sneakers or white cloth shoes.

For a surprise visit to the Natural History Museum in London, the radiant Kate shows up in a cool combination: She wears light blue jeans, a white shirt and white trainers by Veja. She also combines a salmon-colored blazer by Chloé, which gives the casual outfit a luxury upgrade at a price of around 1500 euros.

Classic cut meets bright color

Since this year, Kate has also taken a new direction in the choice of colors for her clothes. We have seen the 39-year-old in flashy colors a number of times in the past, for example in her red blazer from Zara, but for a few months now, the triple mum has been going one step further. All-over looks in warm signal colors seem to have done it to her. Whether pink, red or purple – what colored accents in Kate’s outfits back then were statement looks that immediately catch the eye. The only styling rule that she seems to be following here: the more conspicuous the color, the more classic the cut and the more reduced the accessories.

Looking over her shoulder, her legs elegantly in front of each other - Duchess Catherine could also pose here for the cover of a fashion magazine. At the start of Addiction Awareness Week in London, Kate appears in a bright red skirt and turtleneck sweater by Ralph Lauren. The flowing fabric caresses your legs, the waist belt conjures up a feminine silhouette. A beige bag by DeMellier London and matching pumps complete the look.

Duchess Kate: more glamorous than ever

Kate made the most glamorous appearance at the “James Bond” premiere of “No Time To Die” in London. The tight-fitting cape dress shows Kate a whole new side. It is made to measure by Jenny Packham, one of the Duchess’ favorite designers. It is not for nothing that Kate is referred to as the “Golden Girl” in the press.

What an appearance: like a goddess, Duchess Catherine strides at the "No Time To Die"- Premiere on the red carpet. The fitted cape dress doesn't resemble any of the dresses Kate has worn in previous red carpet appearances. It is made to measure by Jenny Packham, one of the Duchess' favorite designers.

With this look, Kate has definitely stepped out of her comfort zone. And she seems to have taken a liking to it. Because only a few weeks later, at the “Royal Variety Performance” on November 18, 2021, the Duchess of Cambridge also appears in a sequined dress with a wow factor. Although this is not a new dress in her wardrobe, Kate looks changed during her appearance. She wears her hair parted low and laid over one shoulder, the lengths are twisted into voluminous curls. Also new are the lips, which are heavily made up for their standards. It seems that Kate has not only ventured into new territory in terms of fashion …

In any case, we are already looking forward to new stylish fashion and beauty moments in 2022!
