After the death of their dog Lupo in November, Duchess Kate, Prince William and their children now have a new four-legged friend in the family.

Just two months ago, Duchess Kate (39), Prince William (38) and the three children had to say goodbye to their beloved family dog Lupo. The black cocker spaniel had been with the family for nine years. It has now been announced that Kate's brother James Middleton (33) has already found a replacement: his bitch Luna – sister of the late Lupo – became the mother of six puppies in May 2020. He even gave one of them to the family shortly before Lupo's death.

Like its predecessor, the eight-month-old puppy is a black cocker spaniel and is supposed to comfort the family while they process Lupo's death. And it seems to be working: "The new puppy is absolutely adorable and the family is completely in love with him," a family friend told the Mail on Sunday. "When Lupo died they were devastated, any dog owner will understand. But they got the puppy before it died." It was hoped that the young dog would keep his uncle Lupo company and give him more energy.

What name the Cambridges have given their young addition to the family is not yet known. Prince George (7) and Princess Charlotte (5) are said to have been the ones who were allowed to choose the little one. The family is spending the corona lockdown at their Amner Hall country estate in Norfolk, where the new puppy is sure to get plenty of exercise in nature.
