Duchess Kate and Sophie of Wessex made an elegant entrance on Garter Day at Windsor Castle.

Duchess Kate (40) and Sophie von Wessex (57) took part this Monday (June 13) on the day of honor of the “Order Of The Garter” (in German: Order of the Garter). At the event at Windsor Castle, the two members of the Royal Family once again presented themselves with elegant looks.

Kate wore a bright blue coat dress by Alexander McQueen, which emphasized her slim silhouette with a narrow waist belt. She combined a dark blue clutch and pumps in the same color with her outfit. She completed her look with a matching Juliette Botterill hat and tanzanite necklace and earrings from G. Collins & Sons.

Prince Edward’s (58) wife Sophie von Wessex appeared just as elegant in a pink, knee-length Valentino robe and combined it with a striking beige hat with feathers, a clutch and pointed pumps. When it came to jewelry, she opted for sparkling stud earrings and a flower-shaped brooch. Both women wore their hair pulled back to match their headdresses.

What is Garter Day all about?

Garter Day is a day of honor for members of the Order of the Garter. Duchess Kate’s husband Prince William (39) has been a member since 2008. Dressed in the traditional garb of the Order of Chivalry, members and the Royals march from Windsor Castle towards St George’s Chapel on Garter Day to attend a service. Because of Corona, Garter Day was last held in 2019.
