Duchess Kate was very approachable when she appeared at Buckingham Palace. She represented the Queen at a traditional garden party.

Duchess Kate (40), together with Prince Edward (58) and his wife, Sophie von Wessex (57), received hundreds of people at a traditional garden party at Buckingham Palace. The trio represented Queen Elizabeth II (96), who had previously attended the events.

Kate dazzled during her performance in a coral sheath dress that made her stand out from the crowd. She wore a matching hat. The Duchess personally greeted numerous guests in the afternoon and seemed very lively during short conversations, as reported by the British “Daily Mail”..

The garden parties, which represent a recognition of the commitment of the guests, had to be canceled in the past two years due to the corona pandemic. According to the report, a good 30,000 people are usually invited to the traditional events each year, where around 27,000 cups of tea, 20,000 sandwiches and 20,000 pieces of cake are served. It usually took the royals more than an hour to navigate the crowd.

The Queen’s participation canceled in advance

It was already announced at the beginning of May that Queen Elizabeth II would not take part in the four garden parties. The palace had said the queen would be represented by other members of the royal family. No reason was given, but Elizabeth II has had to deal with increasing health and mobility problems in recent months.

The Queen paid a surprise visit to London’s Paddington Station on Tuesday. The “Elizabeth Line” named after her is scheduled to open to passengers on May 24th.
