Duchess Kate: She grills marshmallows with boy scouts

Duchess Kate met with Boy Scouts on Tuesday. She roasted marshmallows with the children and received a special award.

A particularly enjoyable royal appointment was on the agenda for Duchess Kate (38) on Tuesday morning (29.9.): Together with a boy scout group, she explored a piece of nature in north-west London. Following some fun activities, the mother of three earned the title of Co-President of the Boy Scout Association. That reported the "People" magazine.

During the visit on Tuesday, the Duchess learned how it was possible for the children to go back to their boy scout groups despite the corona pandemic and to pursue activities there in compliance with the new hygiene regulations. With a safe distance, the Duchess tinkered paper helicopters outdoors, roasted marshmallows and wrote letters with the children to senior citizens in old people's homes.

Kate is now co-president of the UK Boy Scout Association

Kate volunteered with boy scouts in Wales eight years ago and has been advocating the issue since joining the royal family. Because of her commitment, she was officially named co-president of the British Boy Scout Association. She carries the title together with Queen Elizabeth's (94) cousin Edward (84), the Duke of Kent.

Commenting on her honor, the 38-year-old said: "For many children and young adults, the Boy Scout Association plays an important role, as it is where they build relationships and develop skills that they need in later life to be successful volunteered with the Welsh Scouts, I was surprised by the impact the organization has on the children and how it inspires them to support their community and achieve their goals. " She is looking forward to her new role and to positively change society together with the scouts.
