Hundreds of Londoners have visited a memorial site for a woman killed. Duchess Kate also laid flowers for the 33-year-old.

Duchess Kate (39) has joined the numerous people who publicly mourn a 33-year-old woman from London who has fallen victim to a violent crime. The wife of Prince William (38) brought flowers to the memorial in south London. According to Sky News from Kensington Palace, Kate came to the memorial because she "wanted to show her respect to the family and Sarah." "She remembers what it was like to be out and about in London at night before her wedding," added the palace. The visit of the 39-year-olds had not been announced in advance.

A planned vigil in honor of the killed woman was canceled after talks with the police, apparently feared that the lockdown rules could not be adhered to. The 33-year-old was reported missing in early March after walking home in the dark after visiting a friend but never arriving. She was later found dead in a forest in Kent. A 48-year-old police officer is suspected of having committed a crime.
