In an emotional letter, Duchess Kate thanked children’s hospices for their “remarkable work”.

June 21 is actually a happy occasion for Duchess Kate (39): Her husband Prince William is celebrating his 39th birthday this Monday. Nevertheless, the Duchess insisted on pointing out a special and serious theme week in Great Britain. The “Children’s Hospice Week” starts there on June 21st. In an emotional letter, the Duchess thanked for the “remarkable work” that is being done in hospice facilities for children.

Kate is the patron of East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) who wrote the letter on your website and her Instagram account published. The picture shows Kate visiting the hospice “The Nook” in Norfolk.

The past Corona year was difficult for everyone, especially hard and frightening but for families with seriously ill children, the Duchess wrote in her letter. Hospices “give families the care and time they need to create precious, lifelong memories – the chance to be parents, not carers,” she said.

The facilities are also there “when it is time to say goodbye”. The hospices would “ensure that the family has privacy and dignity to grieve together and that they receive support for as long as necessary”. During Children’s Hospice Week last year, Kate helped plant a garden for The Nook hospice. The managing director of EACH, Tracy Rennie, praised the Duchess’ commitment with the words: “As usual, she was full of compassion and empathy.”
