Friends refer to Meghan Markle as a true "avocado toast whisperer". She seems to have found the perfect recipe for the healthy snack. And best of all: You only need five ingredients!

Duchess Meghan, 39, loves her avocado toast so much that she even breaks a British tradition for it and serves the green cream on crusty bread next to black tea and chocolate pralines for afternoon tea.

A recipe that the 39-year-old perfected a few years ago and published on her lifestyle blog "The Tig". This has now been deactivated, but Meghan's original avocado toast recipe has saved attentive foodies and cannot get enough of the unique combination.

The ingredients for 2 avocado toasts à la Meghan Markle:

  • 2 slices of wholemeal toast
  • 1 avocado
  • 1 tbsp feta
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp pumpkin seeds

The preparation:

  1. Toast the wholemeal toast until golden brown.
  2. In the meantime, use a fork to grind the flesh of the avocado and the feta. Stir in lemon juice. Season to taste with pepper, salt and chilli flakes as desired.
  3. Spread the finished avocado puree on the two wholemeal toasts and refine with finely chopped pumpkin seeds as desired.
