Duchess Meghan’s first children’s book will be published soon. But the start is bumpy: Many Royal experts consider the topic unsuitable – and now some Twitter users believe that Meghan has orientated himself on another book. What’s behind it?
Duchess Meghan, 39, has been building a new life in California since leaving the British royal family – and has also started her career. After millions of deals with Netflix and Spotify, it has now been announced that the Duchess of Sussex has written a children’s book. “The Bench” focuses on a special father-son relationship that is told from the perspective of a mother. Meghan was inspired by husband Prince Harry, 36, and son Archie, 1.
A project for which there is more than just praise. After various British royal experts sharply criticized the subject of the book, some Twitter users now want to have recognized amazing similarities between Meghans and the 2018 children’s book “The Boy and The Bench” by Corrinne Averiss.

Striking: both books have a similar title and a colorful cover depicting a bench under a tree – surrounded by birds. Meghan’s book features an illustration by artist Christian Robinson of a father with his little boy on a lounger. A similar moment can be found in “The Boy and the Bench”, here father and son sit together on a bench, the situation was also captured from a bird’s eye view. “Almost identical to Corrinne Averiss’ book ‘The Boy On the Bench’, even the cover,” tweeted a user. Other outraged users are calling for only the “original” by Averiss to be read.

Serious allegations, which are quickly refuted by the “The Boy and the Bench” author. “If you read the description and the published excerpt of the Duchess’s new book, this is not the same story or topic as ‘The Boy and the Bench’. I can’t see any similarities,” Corrinne Averiss writes on Twitter.
While “The Boy and the Bench” is about the little boy Tom, who is sitting with his father on the bench near a playground and is not brave enough to romp around with the other children, Duchess Meghan in “The Bench “to remind you of” the many ways love can take shape and be expressed in a modern family “.
