Duchess Meghan: Old Instagram postings provide information about, personality

Duchess Meghan caused displeasure among many people at her online conference for "Fortune's Most Powerful Women" with a statement about social media users. She once used the platforms for her own advantage, as one expert reveals.

Duchess Meghan, 39, declared on Tuesday (October 13, 2020) in an interview with Emma Hinchcliffe during an online conference for "Fortune's Most Powerful Women" for "Fortune's Most Powerful Women" out of "self-protection". For her comparison of social media users with other addicts, she received more than just positive feedback.

Duchess Meghan used Instagram regularly

Only a few years ago things looked very different. Until she deleted her profile in 2018, the 39-year-old used Instagram regularly to share pictures of herself – including cute selfies, family photos and spontaneous snapshots. And they gave quite a bit of information about Meghan's personality and, above all, her intentions, says body language expert Judi James.

In a fluffy sweater and with a coffee mug, Meghan Markle looks sweetly into the camera of her mobile phone, her face framed by the long, dark hair and the hood pulled up. Behind the selfie that the American once published, the expert clearly sees "the desire to be liked".

She presented herself in the best possible light

In another shot, which was shared at the time, the actress poses cross-legged on the bed in her pajamas and takes a picture in the mirror. "Only in the pajama top is Meghan sitting straight and self-confident in a very sexy, desirable pose on the bed, her legs crossed to signal control, but with a very typical selfie pout," quoted "The Sun" Judi James. Like many other photos that were on her Instagram profile before her marriage to Prince Harry, 36, this one too shows that she did not have to worry about her privacy at this point in her career.

Family-friendly yet sexy

The mother of little Archie, one, shared intimate moments with her family before her time as part of the British royal family or while cuddling on the sofa with her dogs and a glass of red wine in her hand. A pose that, according to the expert, sends the message that she is "the perfect woman to settle down at home".

Probably the most intimate picture showed the 39-year-old without make-up and with disheveled hair, apparently shortly after waking up in bed. "It gives a view of the celebrity that is only available to the lucky few in real life," said the expert.

It is all the more surprising that the Duchess recently called for great caution when using the platform. "If you build your brand there and connect with friends online, be aware of what you are doing," she said on Tuesday. "Understand that it's not limited to just this one moment – that you create an echo of yourself."
