Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry have so far made a big secret of whether they will travel to London for King Charles’ coronation in May. A palace insider is now providing clarity from the Royal Family and confirming that the Sussexes will definitely receive an invitation.

Although Prince Harry, 38, shot his family sharply in his memoirs “Spare” (German title: Reserve) and various TV interviews and, above all, made serious accusations against his father King Charles, 74, and brother Prince William, 40, the drop-out royal and his wife are to be invited to the coronation of the monarch on May 6, 2023. This is now confirmed by a palace insider who is familiar with the planning of the event of the century to the British newspaper “The Sun”.

Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry are “definitely invited”

Invitations to the 90-minute ceremony at Westminster Abbey are due to be sent out later this month, and word has it that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are among the 2,000-strong guest list of royals, dignitaries and world leaders become. “They will definitely be invited and we assume they will come,” says the anonymous source.

The special holiday weekend will see a series of processions and King Charles is scheduled to appear twice on the palace balcony. As non-working royals, however, it is not yet clear what role the Sussexes will play in these celebrations and the long-awaited balcony moments.

Palace wants to avoid “total circus”.

However, coronation planners are hoping the couple will arrive in the UK before the official weekend, lest the first “awkward encounters” distract from the historic event. “It would help if they came earlier so that there isn’t a total circus on the day of the coronation,” the palace insider explains. Hundreds of officials in Whitehall and the Foreign Office are currently working on plans to make the coronation of the new British king perfect – crowds are expected in the capital. At the moment, however, King Charles only seems to be interested in a quick commitment from Harry and Meghan.
