Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry attended Ellen DeGeneres’ second wedding
What a surprise! Portia de Rossi and her wife Ellen DeGeneres, 65, actually invited family and friends to their place on January 31 to celebrate the actress’ 50th birthday. But suddenly Portia enters the room in a stunning halter wedding dress with satin trims and a tulle skirt, according to a YouTube video from The Ellen Show. The presenter is overwhelmed, her eyes fill with tears. But she is also confused. What’s happening?
A second wedding! While musician Brandi Carlile, 41, performs a romantic song, Portia approaches her loved one. Suddenly, Kris Jenner, 67, a good friend of the two, appears and positions himself in front of them with a piece of paper. “They are a dream couple and never cease to amaze me with how cute they are together,” Jenner said in a heartwarming speech, explaining that Portia would like to renew her vows. “Surprise!” jokes de Rossi. “You don’t have to say anything. When I thought about what would make my birthday extra special, besides being with family and friends, it was the reminder that you are the most important thing in the world to me,” she continues away. Ellen is still speechless, but says yes again to her wife, whom she married in 2008.
But Kris Jenner is not the only celebrity at the wedding: Duchess Meghan, 41, and Prince Harry, 38, are also there. John Legend explains the sweet meaning of his daughter’s name
On Jan. 13, John Legend, 44, announced at a private concert that he and wife Chrissy Teigen, 37, have welcomed a daughter again. A few days later they posted the first snapshot and revealed the name of the little ones: Esti Maxine Stephens. Now the musician explains how the choice of name came about. The first name is a homage to his great-grandmother – but that was a coincidence.
Because Chrissy made this decision alone. “When Chrissy pitched this idea to me, I was like, ‘Oh, my great-grandmother’s name was Esther,'” the singer tells E! News, adding, “We were going to call her a middle name, Maxine, after my grandmother’s middle name was Maxine. So there’s a lot of my family in the name.”
Tom Brady announces retirement from professional sports
Tom Brady, 45, is giving up his career in professional football – this time “forever”. With a video message, the ex-husband of supermodel Gisele Bundchen, 42, announces his resignation. “I’ll get straight to the point. I’m retiring for good,” the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback said on Twitter. “I know the process was a pretty big deal last time, so when I woke up this morning I figured I’ll just hit record and let you guys know first.”
Exactly one year ago, on February 1, 2022, the 45-year-old had already announced his retirement from professional sport. After 22 seasons he wanted to retire, but only returned about a month later. He belongs on the field and not in the stands, he explained at the time. So now, on his second try, he joked that athletes usually only get “a super emotional resignation announcement” and that he tragically “used up” his last year.
