Duchess Meghan apparently makes serious allegations to the royals in the TV interview with Oprah Winfrey, as a new excerpt shows.

Duchess Meghan (39) is apparently not afraid of the consequences of the TV interview with Oprah Winfrey (67). In a second teaser clip from CBS with an excerpt from the conversation, which will be broadcast in the United States on March 7, Prince Harry's (36) wife says a lot has "already been lost". She also explains that one cannot expect her to remain silent if the royals were involved in "perpetuating falsehoods about us".

In the interview with Winfrey, Harry and Meghan are likely to talk about the short time they worked together for the royal family before they retired from their royal duties in spring 2020 and emigrated to the United States with their son Archie (1). In February, the palace announced that the couple would no longer return to their duties, give up remaining patronage and Prince Harry would lose his military dignity.

"You can't expect us to keep silent"

In the new 30-second clip, Winfrey asks the Duchess of Sussex what she thinks the palace thinks about her expressing her point of view. Meghan replies, "I don't know how to expect us to still be silent after all this time when there is this active role that 'the company' is playing in perpetuating falsehoods about us." And she adds, "And if that comes with the risk of losing things, I mean … there's a lot that is already lost."

In two more short clips with previously published excerpts from the interview with Oprah Winfrey, Harry has the floor: "My greatest concern was that history would repeat itself." He is apparently referring to his mother Diana, who died in a car accident in Paris in 1997 at the age of 36 when she was followed by paparazzi. Harry said he was very "relieved and happy" to be able to speak to his wife by his side, because he couldn't imagine what it must have been like for his mother to "go through this process alone all those years ago to have". And he adds: "It was incredibly difficult for both of us, but at least we had each other."

Allegations against Meghan

Shortly before the interview was broadcast, Buckingham Palace just announced that it would investigate the serious allegations of bullying against Duchess Meghan. It was "very concerned" about the report in the British newspaper "The Times", in which former employees had alleged that Prince Harry's wife had massively bullied employees. Therefore, the HR department will investigate the allegations outlined in it, according to British media reports.

According to the "The Times" article, the allegations originally date back to 2018. Meghan is said to have expelled two of her assistants from her immediate environment and undermined the trust of a third employee. The communications secretary of Meghan and Harry in Kensington Palace, Jason Knauf, then formulated the complaint against Meghan.

Harry and Meghan's office has firmly denied the allegations. In an official statement, a spokesman for the couple said: "The Duchess is saddened by this recent attack on her character." Above all, the fact that she herself was the target of bullying obliges her to "support those who have experienced pain and trauma".
