Duchess Meghan: She makes all of her decisions for Archie

In a new interview, Duchess Meghan spoke about her son Archie. She also compared social media to drugs.

Duchess Meghan (39) has spoken about wanting to make the world a better place for her son Archie (1). During a video interview for the Fortune Most Powerful Women Next Gen event, she said media reports said she had become braver since becoming a mother and that she was concerned about the world she would leave behind for her child. Every personal and professional decision that she recently made has to do with Archie.

"Everything I do is for Archie, our son," said Prince Harry's wife, 36. "It could look risky from the outside," said Meghan. "But when you lead an authentic life, I don't even know whether you can still call it a risk. You just do what is right."

Social media make you "addicted"

Meghan also spoke at the event about their views on social media and how they have changed over time. The former actress and influencer said goodbye to social media before her wedding to Prince Harry in 2018. Meghan also hinted that the Sussexes will no longer return to Instagram and Co. after their retirement as working royals.

"For my own protection, I haven't been on social media in a long time. I had a personal account years ago that I shut down, and then we had one in the UK through the institution and our office, separate from us, that became not managed by us, it was a whole team, "she explained of her time as a working member of the royal family. "I think that's part of the job you have."

"I don't know what's out there"

And Meghan added, "I made a personal decision not to have an account. So I don't know what's out there and in many ways it's helpful to me. I worry a lot about people who are obsessed with it . "

"It's such a big part of our daily lives for so many people that it's an addiction like many others," Meghan continued, equating social media with drug use. “There's something algorithmic that creates this obsession, and I think it's very unhealthy for a lot of people. I'm saying when you're out there building your brand, when you're out there and online with your friends busy, be aware of what you are doing and realize that it is not limited to this one moment. "
