Duchess Meghan: She talks about the importance of self-confidence

Meghan spoke about confidence in a video conference for Smart Works. She is the patron of the charity organization.

Duchess Meghan (39) has spoken from the USA. Prince Harry's (35) wife held a video conference with three women helped by the Smart Works charity. Meghan is the patron of Smart Works and celebrated the anniversary of her charity collection with the conversation that can be seen on Instagram.

"That's not true"

The charity helps unemployed women by providing them with interview clothes. Smart Works also offers preparation seminars with experienced specialists. In the video that has now been posted on Instagram, Meghan says, "People can say that Smart Works is all about clothing, but that's not true." The clothing is the outside, but in the end the "best accessory" is that something is achieved inside. "It's the self-confidence, it's what grows inside you, that takes you out of the room and into the interview."

Duchess Meghan herself is known for her love of designer clothes, according to British media reports she is said to have worn outfits worth the equivalent of around one million euros during her time as a working member of the royal family. For the virtual meeting, she wore a brown satin top under a white blazer.

Collection for a good cause

Exactly a year ago, Duchess Meghan officially returned from maternity leave and presented a five-part fashion collection in London that she had created for charity together with Smart Works. For every item of clothing sold in stores, another one will be donated to Smart Works, it said.

Harry and Meghan stepped down from their duties in the British royal family in the spring and recently bought a house in the California coastal city of Santa Barbara. The couple have lived there with their one-year-old son Archie since then.
