This seems to be the most personal project that Duchess Meghan has implemented so far. Prince Harry’s wife is bringing out her own children’s book called “The Bench”. It’s inspired by the relationship between Harry and son Archie.

Have you ever wondered how Prince Harry, 36, fulfills his role as a father? What will his life be like with Duchess Meghan, 39, and one-year-old Archie? Well, Meghan captured exactly these personal impressions in her latest project. Her children’s book “The Bench” depicts special father-son relationships – inspired by Harry and Archie, told from the mother’s perspective.

Duchess Meghan: “‘The Bench’ began as a poem”

In the official press release, Duchess Meghan, who is currently pregnant with her second child, describes how the illustrated book came about. “The Bench began as a poem I wrote for my husband on Father’s Day, a month after Archie was born,” said the 39-year-old. Over time, Meghan apparently observed more and more the growing bond that developed between her husband and her son and recorded this in her own words.

The poem became a book that not only describes Harry and Archie’s relationship, but also takes up a variety of impressions. The story is intended to “recall the many ways in which love can take shape and be expressed in a modern family,” the statement goes on to say. The children’s book is about comforting situations, shared experiences and impressions as well as “moments of peace and reflection, trust and faith” between father and son.

Meghan’s book will be out in June 2021

In addition to the stories, the Duchess of Sussex was also interested in the design. She gave this to the illustrator Christian Robinson. “Christian has included beautiful and ethereal watercolor illustrations that capture the warmth, joy and comfort of the relationship between fathers and sons from all walks of life,” said Prince Harry’s wife.

The Duchess’s book will be published on June 8, 2021 by Random House Children’s Books.
