Duchess Meghan built a new life with Prince Harry after retiring as Senior Royals in California – and gained a new best friend. Introducing Meghan’s new confidant.
In short shorts and a loose denim shirt, Duchess Meghan, 40, cheers on her loved one at polo. She seems relaxed – happy. She’s never been seen like this as a senior royal in Britain. And Prince Harry, 37, seems to have learned to love his old passion in California again. The 37-year-old recently joined the Los Padres polo team after playing the sport alongside his brother William, 40, for most of his life.
The club is run by Harry’s old friend Ignacio “Nacho” Figueras, 45, an Argentinian sports star who has even been dubbed “the David Beckham of polo” by the “Tatler”. Due to the many tournaments at the weekend, the two men were now welded together again and Duchess Meghan was also able to benefit from her husband’s friendship: she has gained a new best friend, Nacho’s wife Delfina Blaquier Figueras.
Duchess Meghan’s girlfriend reveals private details
The two women were repeatedly photographed by paparazzi while they actively supported their husbands at various polo tournaments. How close they actually are, however, only became clear through an Instagram post by Delfina on Friday, June 24, 2022. “M – I look forward to many more moments like this with you and H. The time we were able to spend together in these 2 months was something very special. I wish everyone to get to know you as you are. My sister , my current “pwife” (polo wife) – awesome that you came up with that,” she wrote in a snapshot shared with Meghan. “M” seems to be her nickname for Meghan, Harry calls her “H”.
Delfina also emphasizes that she “can’t wait” to see Meghan “soon for thrills, hikes and just more time to chill”. “You also have my respect. Go on, steady and strong. Listen to your heart, it will guide you well, because you have a big one, and it’s a beautiful one. I love you my darling,” Delfina continued.
Touching words, which Duchess Meghan was certainly very happy about. After all, her old friendships have become much quieter recently, especially with her former best friend Jessica Mulroney, 42, the 40-year-old is said to have less and less contact. A new confidante comes in handy. But who is Delfina Blaquier Figueras actually?
What makes Delfina Blaquier Figueras tick?
Delfina Blaquier Figueras is the daughter of Argentine racing driver Delfina Frers and Eduardo Blaquier, who belongs to one of Argentina’s richest families. Blaquier Figueras studied landscape architecture and now works as a photographer and fashion entrepreneur, although she was very successful as an athlete in her youth. As a youth athlete, she took part in international competitions in the women’s high jump in the 1990s and won, among other things, the gold medal at the South American Athletics Youth Championships in 1996. She finished eighth at the 1998 U20 World Championships in Athletics. In 2007 she opened her first photo exhibition, in 2018 she launched the clothing line “Àcheval Pampa” together with Lucila Sperber and Sofia Achaval de Montaigu.
In 2004, Delfina married polo player Ignacio “Nacho” Figueras, and the couple have four children together: Hilario, Artemio, Aurora and Alba. The family lives in California. Nacho Figueras has been friends with Prince Harry for many years, so it’s no wonder he and his wife were also on the high-profile guest list for Harry’s dream wedding in Windsor.

The Sussexes’ move to Montecito has allowed the couples to spend more time together again, especially in the past few weeks. The polo games of Nacho’s Los Padres team, of which Harry is also a member, took several weekends and offered Meghan and Delfina many hours to get to know each other better. And the two women have a lot in common, as a look at Delfina’s Instagram account and her blog “wearefigueras.com” shows.
What connects Meghan and Delfina
“I’m a mother, a wife and an adventurer,” Delfina writes about herself, emphasizing: “We have a wonderful lifestyle and I’m very lucky that I found my best friend at a young age. He didn’t have me only given 4 children but also teaches me every day to be a better version of myself.” A sentence that could also come from Duchess Meghan. After all, she and Prince Harry have stressed more than once in the past how glad they are to have found each other and how sacred their little family is to them.

The fact that Delfina has a blog, on which she published her last post in 2019, will remind Meghan of her life before her marriage. On “The Tig” the former “Suits” star shared his thoughts with his fans, published recipes and photos from everyday life or from his vacations. Meghan had to stop doing that when she was officially the new wife at Prince Harry’s side. Now she has found a friend who is also enthusiastic about all the beautiful things in life and is very familiar with Meghan’s old Hollywood life: Delfina is a welcome guest at exclusive VIP events, often traveling or in the hottest scenes -Restaurants of the world on the go.
