Due to current events: RTL is reorganizing the program at short notice


Dead, stopped rail traffic and countless property damage: Germany is groaning under storm “Ylenia.” RTL is therefore rebuilding the program at short notice. In an RTL Aktuell special, information is provided about the consequences of the storm and explains what is still to come with hurricane “Zeynep”.

The balance of “Ylenia” is devastating: three dead, hundreds of police operations, thousands of people without electricity, long-distance traffic stopped and children who were not allowed to go to school (source: Tagesschau). The storm not only shook Germany, but also the RTL program.

RTL brings special program to storm lows “Ylenia” and “Zeynep”

Today at 5:00 p.m the Cologne-based private broadcaster throws its program and broadcasts on current occasion RTL current special. In the special entitled “Hurricane over Germany” informs moderator Christopher Wittich about this Extent of the storm in Germany and goes live to reporters spread across the country.

The hurricane comes from the British Isles and, according to the DWD, should be felt mainly on the coasts. “We warn of extreme hurricane gusts of up to 135 kilometers per hour on the North Sea coast,” said meteorologist Franka Nawrath to the German Press Agency.

Weather expert Christian Häckl is supposed to classify the situation for RTL and show what can be expected in the next few hours. The program “Explosiv Stories”, which runs regularly at 5 p.m. on RTL, is canceled for the special program.
