The name of the winner will be revealed at 8 p.m. on TF1, the day after the election of Marine Tondelier as head of Europe-Ecology Les Verts. The winner, whoever it is, will have the difficult task of rebuilding a party that has run out of voters, and several missions to take up.
The first mission will be to bring the right together. An exercise that does not seem so simple in view of the week that has just passed, between the two rounds of the internal ballot.
Include competitors in LR governance
The campaign was indeed tense between Éric Ciotti and Bruno Retailleau, two personalities who were said to be rather close ideologically. The winner will thus have to include his competitor in the governance of the party and leave room for Aurélien Pradié, who came third last Sunday.

The next president of the Republicans will also have to rebuild the party. First ideologically, by appropriating themes other than security and lower taxes. Bruno Retailleau and Éric Ciotti thus want to reinvest the field of ideas by creating, for example, a Republican media or a training school. The objective is to recreate a space between Emmanuel Macron and Marine Le Pen.
For this, the two candidates are committed to transforming the party, starting with the headquarters located rue de Vaugirard in Paris. The latter could change because it is considered too costly and assimilated to the recent defeats of the right.
Preparing for the next elections
Finally, the two candidates campaigned on the desire to give voice to activists, notably through internal referendums. The future winner will also have the task of preparing the party for the 2024 European elections and deciding the question of the right-wing candidate for the 2027 presidential election early enough.
