Duet AI is Google’s real-time AI collaborator that works with users in Workspace apps, including Slides, Meet, Gmail, Chat, and more. It can make tedious daily tasks easier, such as reading large emails, creating slide presentations, and even joining meetings.

With the “Attend for Me” feature, DuetAI can attend meetings on your behalf, deliver the message you wish you had shared, and then give you a recap of what you missed.
Duet AI can also take notes, jot down action items, and even record real-time video footage with the “Take Notes for Me” feature. After the meeting, he sends a summary to the participants and to those who were unable to attend the meeting, but wish to stay informed.
If a user joins the meeting late, they can use the “summary so far” feature to quickly catch up with the rest of their colleagues.
Duet AI will also help optimize the video experience for call participants by providing studio look, lighting and sound, according to the release.
To make it easier to see and understand participants joining a video conference, Google is implementing live tiles and face detections, which will give each participant a video tile with the name of the meeting.
Finally, Google Meet will now have “automatically translated captions” for 18 languages, i.e. it will automatically detect when another language is spoken and display a real-time translation.
