Durek Verrett has always caused a stir in the past. Now the mother of Princess Märtha Louise’s fiancé speaks up – and shoots her son.

In November 2022, the Court announced that Princess Märtha Louise, 51, would be stepping down from her official duties and no longer representing the royal household. Some royal experts felt the decision was linked to her fiancé, Durek Verrett, 48. Because the shaman has often made negative headlines with controversial statements: Among other things, the American claimed on Instagram that a medallion he had sold had contributed to his recovery from COVID-19.

Durek also mentioned his beloved mother Veruschka Urquhart, 79, several times on social media and paid tribute to her with touching posts. But now his mother breaks her silence, paints a completely different picture of the relationship with her son – and raises serious allegations.

Durek Verrett’s mother criticizes his existence as a shaman

In an interview with the Norwegian newspaper “Se og Hør”, Veruschka Urquhart cleared up some of her son’s statements. In early 2019, Durek Verrett posted a picture of Märtha Louise to Instagram, explaining that his mother prophesied his love for the royal. “When I was a teenager my mother told me that one day someone of her Norwegian descent would find me and bring a lot of joy to my heart,” wrote the now 48-year-old, adding that his mother was sure one to see the princess by his side. However, Urquhart did not want to know anything about that, she never made such a statement.

But that’s not all: The 79-year-old also doesn’t seem to think much of her son’s vocation. This is what Veruschka Urquhart says to “Se og Hør”:

Durek does not help you to find the divine light. He takes you to his light where he can infiltrate and manipulate you.

Strong words from the New York-based woman.

Veruschka Urquhart feels ‘abandoned’ by her son

With the regular declarations of love that Durek Verrett made to his mother on Mother’s Day, among other things, it seems as if the two had an intimate relationship. Urquhart now contradicts this. At the beginning of the corona pandemic, she was infected with the virus and is still struggling with the long-term effects. Shortly thereafter, her partner Michael died, with whom she had been in a relationship for 40 years. Durek remained absent after the death and did not even offer his condolences to his mother. And that despite the fact that Michael was a part of his life and the father of his little brother Brandon for several decades.

“He doesn’t do anything with me anymore,” says Veruschka Urquhart about the relationship with her son, adding: “Because I have a different opinion than he does.” She was particularly hurt that Durek was in New York with Märtha Louise and her daughters Maud Angelica, 19, Leah Isadora, 17, and Emma Tallulah, 14, last Christmas – and neither visited nor contacted his mother. The fact that the shaman posted a happy picture of the trip and added the caption “Family is everything” must have hit Veruschka in the heart. “I felt let down,” she admits to the Norwegian publication.

Durek has become estranged from his mother: Veruschka doesn’t know Märtha Louise

“Being alone doesn’t scare me. What hurt me wasn’t that I was alone, but that they didn’t reach out even though they were close,” she continues. The 48-year-old could at least have informed her about his stay in the metropolis.

The relationship used to be different, she can remember a time when Durek was “a good boy”. At that time he was always there for her: “But then there came a point where it all ended.” The mother-son relationship does not seem to have improved since then. Because, as Veruschka reveals, she has not personally met her future daughter-in-law Princess Märtha Louise to date. The two women only “spoke on the phone,” said the 79-year-old.
