Dusting off PlayStation 5: You can actually order here now

  • with drive 499.99 euros
  • as a Digital Edition (without Blu-ray drive) 399.99 euros

In fact, the console is currently hardly available at this price. Resellers in particular demand outrageous prices of 1,000 euros and more. However, the prices are slowly falling, because occasionally you can get the PS5 for around 700 euros – that’s still well above the RRP, but at least not quite as extreme.

Reading tip: We have explained what the different versions are all about and what advantages they offer in our extensive PS5 test.

The pre-order process for the PlayStation 5 was pretty chaotic, the console was almost impossible to get anywhere for weeks.

On the official release date on November 19, the console was back in stock at some retailers. But as expected, this contingent was quickly sold out, and the Amazon and Co. servers sometimes went to their knees. Many customers again went away empty-handed. According to statements by the Sony boss, all Sony consoles are actually out of stock at the moment.

If you are interested in a PlayStation 5, we recommend the following: Check regularly online at the larger retailers to see whether pre-orders or purchases are possible again. The corresponding links to the shops can be found below. As soon as one of the dealers announces a renewed wave of sales, you will find out here.

We advise against buying overpriced consoles on Ebay and Co. Better wait for the next official wave of sales and save several hundred euros.

Important: For the time being, there are no PS5 consoles available in the local dealer branches. This is to prevent any accumulation of people in times of Corona. You can only buy online – you can find a list of shops here. However, thanks to “Click and Collect” you can in many cases order your goods online and pick them up in store.
