The annual photo shoot of King Willem-Alexander, Queen Máxima and their daughters has been postponed at short notice due to the weather.

New pictures from the Dutch royal family: The traditional photo session of King Willem-Alexander (55), Queen Máxima (51) and Princesses Amalia (18), Alexia (16) and Ariane (15) did not take place on the beach as planned this time , but in the anteroom of Noordeinde Castle.

Otherwise the shooting would have literally fallen through. As reported by Dutch media, rain, thunderstorms and strong winds were forecast. That’s why the shooting couldn’t take place at the beach club La Cantina in The Hague as originally planned.

Summer outfits

The family was beaming “indoor” when they posed for the photographers. The outfits also brought summer flair to the photos: while the king appeared in a sand-colored suit with a light blue shirt, his wife wore a maxi dress by Diane von Fürstenberg with a striking green print.

The three daughters also showed fashion taste: Princess Amalia opted for a long black summer dress with a floral pattern, Princess Alexia showed a two-piece suit in delicate green with a white floral print by Sandro. Princess Ariane wore a white mini dress with interesting ruffles on Sandro’s stomach.
