In the Netherlands, a train carrying at least fifty passengers derailed after hitting a maintenance crane on the track on Tuesday April 4. The crash killed one traveler and injured dozens of others.
Maintenance work was planned, but “ we have no idea why the crane ended up on the track that was still open to traffic said John Voppen, head of ProRail, the Dutch rail infrastructure manager.
Traffic is suspended for several days between The Hague and Leiden, one of the busiest lines in the Netherlands.
