Both major US parties wanted to make Dwayne Johnson president, as he has now revealed. He calls the experience “very surreal.”

Hollywood heavyweight Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson (51) has been considered a presidential candidate in the USA for a long time. In a survey published two years ago, 46 percent of Americans surveyed wanted the actor and former wrestler to hold the highest office in the United States. The Hollywood star himself also moved in 2021 in an interview with USA Today, he would consider a future candidacy “if that’s what people wanted. Really, I mean that and I’m in no way being flippant with my answer.”

Apparently both major US parties wanted Johnson as their candidate

The star himself revealed in a conversation with ex-“Daily Show” host Trevor Noah (39) that this possibility is not as unrealistic as some might think. “I’ll tell you something: At the end of 2022, I received visits from both parties asking me whether I would run and whether I could run,” Johnson reports on a Nov. 9 episode of Noah’s podcast “What Now?”.

During the meeting, representatives of the Republican and Democratic parties in the USA discussed the survey mentioned above, as well as their own research, which showed that Johnson, if he were to run, would have a good chance in the race for the US presidency.

“It was all very surreal because that was never my goal. My goal was never to be in politics. In fact, there is a lot about politics that I hate,” says Johnson, describing his impression of the two meetings.

However, the actor, who recently made a short appearance in “Fast & Furious 10,” will probably not be able to run for office, at least for the time being. Because already last year Johnson explainedthat his current priority is to be present in the lives of his two young daughters, Tiana (5) and Jasmine (7).

Above all, he wanted to “be a dad” for her after he had previously missed important life events for his now 22-year-old daughter Simone due to his time-consuming wrestling career, as Johnson said in Trevor Noah’s podcast.
