Dwayne Johnson was recently immortalized in a wax museum in Paris. But the figure is criticized and now changed.

At the Musée Grévin, a wax museum in Paris, visitors can pose with many prominent figures. A new addition to the collection has now caused criticism. The replica of actor Dwayne Johnson, 51, is too far removed from the original for fans because of his skin color.

“Why is it white? And when will that change?” is one comment, for example under a posting of the wax museum, which shows pictures of the new figure. “This looks terrible – a change of color is urgently needed,” is another comment from a user.

“The Rock” himself gets involved

Comedian James Andre Jefferson Jr. makes fun of “The Rock” replica in an entire video. “You made ‘The Rock’ look like he was David Beckham,” he commented. “It looks like he’ll soon be part of the royal family!”

Dwayne Johnson, who has Samoan roots among other things, reacted to the clip and said in his own post: “For the record, my team will be contacting our friends at the Grévin Museum in Paris, France to have my wax figure here “updated” with some important details and improvements – starting with my skin color.”

Among other things, the actor added a laughing emoji, showing that he takes his apparently somewhat unsuccessful copy with humor. The museum has now responded to the many reactions in an Instagram story and announced adjustments: “Our artists are already working on improving the wax figure of Dwayne Johnson,” says the statement with the brush emoji attached. “Your feedback is always valuable to us.”
