The Emmys will take place on September 12th. Dwayne Johnson was set to moderate but turned down the job.

Dwayne Johnson (50) was one of the candidates for the job as presenter of the Emmy Awards 2022. However, the Hollywood star had to decline, as is now known. In conversation with “Entertainment Tonight” the actor explains the simple reason for his cancellation: “It was just the schedule.” He felt “very honored” when those responsible asked him, but he simply could not accept the offer. “That’s all,” he then emphasizes.

Chris Rock is also said to be cancelling

Apparently, Johnson isn’t the only one who had to turn down this year’s Emmy Awards. Comedian and actor Chris Rock (57) also declined to moderate the show. “He’s in the middle of his tour and getting ready to start filming his comedy special, which will be filming this fall,” explains an anonymous source.

Even if there have been corresponding speculations, the makers apparently do not want to do without a moderator. A spokesman for the Television Academy said they did not want to do without a host for the gala at this time. The 74th Emmy Awards will take place on September 12th.

In mid-June, there had been reports that both Johnson and Rock had been approached. The industry portal “Deadline” wanted to know that the producers had knocked on both stars. But back then it was already said, the odds are slim that Johnson will moderate. Rock canceled straight away.
