It is not yet clear who will succeed Daniel Craig as James Bond. Dwayne Johnson offers himself once as an agent.

Could Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson (49) get the license to kill? The Hollywood megastar would at least like to see himself as a secret agent in Her Majesty’s service. He wouldn’t be the first in the family to star in a Bond movie. Peter Maivia (1937-1982), Johnson’s grandfather, was the villain in Sean Connery’s (1930-2020) “James Bond 007 – You Only Live Twice”.

Johnson thinks the performance is “very, very cool”, as he reveals in an interview with Esquire magazine. “And I would like to follow in his footsteps and be the next Bond,” he continues. The star does not want to portray one of the opponents, it has to be the agent.

But rather Idris Elba or Henry Cavill?

Even if the new “James Bond 007: No Time to Die” is a huge success at the box office, Daniel Craig (53) will no longer play the role in the future. In the run-up to the publication of his last Bond film, there had already been extensive discussions about who could be his successor. The name Johnson was rarely mentioned in many places.

Countless names have made the rounds in the past few months – none of them has yet been confirmed. “Superman” actor Henry Cavill (38), “Bridgerton” star Regé-Jean Page (33) and colleagues such as Tom Hardy (44), Sam Heughan (41), Richard Madden (35) and James Norton were often mentioned (36) and Idris Elba (49).

A man who Craig himself brought into play is considered a rather unlikely candidate. In an interview with the “Welt am Sonntag”, the Liverpool fan said in early October when asked whether soccer coach Jürgen Klopp (54) could be a good Bond opponent: “Jürgen Klopp would be a great James Bond.”
