Director Jake Kasdan and Dwayne Johnson are making a new film. The Hollywood star could become Santa Claus.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson (49) and Jake Kasdan (47) team up again. This time it could be a Christmas adventure unlike any seen before. The Hollywood star and the director will work together on the film “Red One” for Amazon, as reported by “The Hollywood Reporter”.

While Kasdan is set to direct, Johnson will play one of the roles in the film. The industry magazine speculates that the muscular actor could possibly embody Santa Claus. Both will therefore also be involved in the project as producers.

Success wouldn’t be a Christmas miracle

In June it was announced that Amazon was planning such a project with Johnson. The film is expected to be shot in 2022 and released in time for Christmas in 2023. There are no further details about the plot so far. At least one film between comedy and action adventure is planned around the globe. There is talk of a “completely new universe within the Christmas genre”.

The renewed collaboration between Johnson and Kasdan should be very promising, especially from a financial point of view. The Hollywood star and the director have already shot “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” and “Jumanji: The Next Level” together. The two films together grossed the equivalent of more than 1.5 billion euros worldwide.
