Dying Light 2 Avoids Cyberpunk Mistake: Last Gen Gameplay In January

The parkour role-playing game Dying Light 2 will be released in exactly one month. So far, there has been a lot of gameplay to see, but Techland has always left out the last-gen version of the game. But that should change soon, promises the company’s community manager.

Last-gen gameplay in January

In order not to suffer the same fate as Cyberpunk 2077, Techland would like to see Dying Light 2: Stay Human Present last-gen version of gameplay material. That comes from a tweet from the community manager of Techland @ Uncy8.

In it he writes that he has been asked this several times. “We plan to show old-gen gameplay because we know how important it is to our players.”

He couldn’t give a specific date yet, but it should happen this month. Finally supposed to Dying Light 2 will be released on February 4th for PC and consoles.

This news should please many fans of the zombie parkour adventure, because since the cyberpunk fiasco, alarm bells have been ringing for many when gameplay material is withheld from last-gen versions.

To freshen up, developer CD Projekt assured that the versions for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One of Cyberpunk 2077 would “run surprisingly well”. Up until the day of publication, however, almost no one knew in which catastrophic condition the last-gen versions were. That drew many consequences after himself, among other things, Sony banned Cyberpunk 2077 completely from the PlayStation Store for a while.

Dying Light 2 appears cut in this country

Dying Light 2, on the other hand, has a completely different problem. Even the predecessor had little luck and landed on the index in this country. The sequel does not suffer the same fate and does make it to Germany, but only in digital form and in a cut version.

In the German version, beheading and dismembering human opponents and killing neutral NPCs will not be possible. Techland promises that this will does not affect the story, game progress or basic gameplay will have.
