Dyson announces massive investment in beauty sector

Dyson is known for its technological innovations, often pioneering in their sector. This is particularly the case in beauty, an area in which the English firm has been able to develop innovative products, such as the AirWrap styling tool and the Supersonic hair dryer. And the manufacturer intends to continue this momentum.

To do this, he announces an investment plan of nearly half a billion pounds sterling around beauty. This sum should be used to open new laboratories in order to accelerate research and development in the sector. According to Dyson, these laboratories would be added to the hundreds already existing, spread over four campuses currently hosting 6,000 engineers and scientists.

The firm’s ambitions are certainly worthy of its investment: Dyson already plans to launch around twenty beauty products over the next four years. Obviously, no details have yet been provided as to the nature of these new features. We also do not know if these products will integrate new technologies. Remember that Dyson has not announced any major innovations since the Airwrap styler, launched four years ago, and its Coanda technology. The latest beauty product novelty was a simple, smooth finishing tip to attach to the Supersonic hair dryer.

Both devices also rely on rigorous control of the temperature of the airflow, measuring it, according to Dyson, more than 40 times per second. A way to protect our hair and prevent irreversible damage caused by exposure to high temperatures. Since this problem is common to all heads, it remains to be hoped that other manufacturers will try to remedy it and invest as much as Dyson. A way to democratize hair care.
