Dyson Purifier Big+Quiet Formaldehyde: a new head for the new air purifier dedicated to large spaces

The Dyson Purifier Big+Quiet Formaldehyde is the new air purifier from the British manufacturer. Specifically designed for large spaces, the device is equipped with a HEPA 13 filter capable of trapping pollutants measuring up to 0.1 microns, according to Dyson. A charcoal filter also equips the air purifier, already present on older models. The latter is responsible for removing bad odors such as smoke or cooking. Finally, the Big+Quiet would be able to capture formaldehyde – this polluting gas present in particular in varnishes, glues and paints. This last skill completes the process of cleaning the air, but it is not innovative in itself. Within the Dyson catalog, a range specializing in the treatment of this pollutant has already been offered.

The novelty of the Dyson Purifier Big+Quiet Formaldehyde lies above all in its conception and design. The device is designed with an aerodynamic cone to project the purified air 10m around. A new CO27 sensor equips the air purifier and indicates to the user when it is necessary to purify the air according to the level of pollutants. To do this, the Purifier Big+Quiet Formaldehyde analyzes the air quality every second and then starts, or not, the purification.

On the other hand, the Purifier Big+Quiet Formaldehyde does not have a heating function. The air purifier provides only the ventilation function, as well as a new so-called “breeze”. Always with the aim of cooling the room, the latter however projects a more diffuse air, which makes the device more discreet.

And as its name suggests, Dyson relies on a low sound level and announces 56 dB; while the Dyson Purifier Cool Formaldehyde hit 63dB in our tests. Obviously, the level announced by Dyson is certainly that reached by the silent mode. It will therefore be necessary to confirm these statements when the air purifier is in our laboratory.

To take advantage of this new air purifier, you have to wait until early September and, at the moment, no price has been announced.
