Its international conference last April, in which we took part, made it possible to lift the veil on a new cleaning solution never before seen from the British manufacturer. The V15 Detect Submarine is nothing more or less than a “classic” V15 Detect that comes with a wet roller brush to wash the floor after vacuuming.
This microfiber cleaning head can clean up stains, spills and spills on hard floors just as well. “To achieve optimal results without excessive saturation, the wet roller has been designed with an eight-point hydration system, using a pressurized chamber for even water distribution and optimal saturation across the width of the roller.”
A well-equipped “watertank”
To do this, it has a 300ml clean water tank in which Dyson advises against putting detergent. The dirty water nestled in the wet roller is then extracted and collected in a separate container to prevent the dirt from spreading on the floor. Note that only one washing speed is available on this V15 Detect Submarine, unlike the Roborock or Dreame, which adapt their washing power according to the state of dirt on the floor, which the V15 Detect also knows how to do by adapting its suction power according to the number and size of the particles recovered.
When equipped with the Submarine brush, the V15 Detect does not vacuum. This is why its autonomy is much longer than in suction mode since its autonomy would be 3 hours, more than enough to clean a very large area. It’s probably the weight of the machine that should hurt a cleaning session, because the Dyson V15 Detect Submarine weighs 3.4 kg with its water tank.
This could be taxing on the arm, but luckily the cleaning system generates a drive when pushed forward, which eases the grip. During our few manipulations, however, we noticed that the return of the broom towards you is a little more painful.
A response to Chinese props
The Dyson V15 Detect Submarine is a product that we did not see coming. With this hybrid product, the manufacturer reacts to accessories compatible with its stick vacuum cleaners designed by Chinese manufacturers and available on Amazon. We had the opportunity to test the washing brushes with rotating pads that were added to the V7, V8, V10 and V11, and we have to admit that the efficiency was there. The problem is that the Submarine brush, marketed in September 2023, which will not be compatible with the stick vacuum cleaners in the range, or even with the V15 Detect.
