  • Dyson invites German media representatives to a virtual product briefing.
  • It’s all about the details of the widely acclaimed Dyson “Zone” headphones.
  • Dyson Zone is Dyson’s first wearable air purifier.

When the British manufacturer Dyson first showed its futuristic headphones “Zone”, many believed it was an April Fool’s joke. Even among the high-tech anti-corona masks, the headphones stood out like a sore thumb. But the British manufacturer is serious – as promised by the manufacturer, the Dyson Zone is about to be launched in Germany.

The group plans to announce more details next Wednesday. Then Dyson invites press representatives to background talks: Netzwelt will also take part. We hope to get more information about the price and availability of the innovative ANC headphones.

The first Dyson headphones

For Dyson, Zone is not only the first wearable air purifier, but also the first headphones. A report by the World Health Organization (WHO) suggests that headphones with built-in pollutant filters can be particularly useful in urban environments. Accordingly, 99 percent of the world’s population breathe in polluted air; around seven million people die every year as a result.

Added to this is the noise pollution in cities. A pair of headphones with air purifiers and active noise cancellation (ANC) could address both issues at the same time. It is obvious that the Dyson Zone not only differs technically, but above all visually from conventional over-ear headphones.

The elements for air filtering are housed in a kind of visor that can be folded down. There are small motors in the two ear cups that suck in the air. It is not yet known how high the price of the Dyson Zone will be and when it will be available in Germany. The Dyson website mentions “2023”. We hope to get this information tomorrow, Wednesday.
