Spring is slowly getting under way and with it the interest in new e-bikes is also increasing. We have already test-ridden ten current e-city bikes for you and compared them in a comparison test. You won’t find this unusual e-bike from China there yet – the hydrogen bike is still a prototype.
But it arouses interest – after all, the annoying recharging of the battery for many could be omitted. Instead, the bike has a tank that can hold liquid, pressurized hydrogen. You may already know the principle from electric cars that run on hydrogen.

According to the Chinese publication China Daily, it is legally a pedelec – your pedaling efforts are therefore only supported up to a speed of 25 km/h, so there is no electric-only mode.
From a purely legal point of view, you could also ride such a hydrogen e-bike in Germany. However, it is not yet known whether the manufacturer will mass-produce the unusual e-bike. Nothing is known about the range either.
