Electric cars are enjoying growing popularity in Germany, but prospective buyers can sometimes experience real disappointment when buying them. Bad advice and unmotivated salespeople are not uncommon, a new study shows.

E-car: buyers of dealer advice frustrated

While e-mobility is advancing in Germany and the environmental bonus for electric cars has recently been extended, some customers are facing an unexpected problem. the Advice to dealers is often inadequate and salespeople are often categorized as unmotivated. A study by the consulting firm Concertare comes to this less intoxicating conclusion.

None of the examined car brands could get top marks. On the contrary, the average rating for advice on e-cars in this country is only 64 out of a possible 100 points, which means “less than satisfactory”. Some dealers are even supposed to do it literally defend against e-cars. In a Fiat branch it is said to have been explained to a covert tester that electric cars had no future.

We not only recommend our video on electric cars to Fiat employees:

Advice on e-cars: Big differences in Germany

in the Comparison of the quality of advice of the automaker, clear differences can be seen. The Mazda investigation performed best, although there is currently only one E-model, the MX-30. Mazda can achieve 83 out of 100 points (source: Auto Motor und Sport).

In second place is Mercedes to find where testers were given comprehensive information on e-mobility and charging options. Porsche and Renault follow, each only one point apart. Audi can be found in the midfield.

Nevertheless, there is good news: the quality of the advice has increased when buying a car overall improved. If combustion engines are also included in the ranking, Mercedes is at the top of the ranking with a plus of 21 percent. Opel has made a massive leap up and is now in second place, followed by Land Rover.
